If it took so long to render perhaps you are using Zoom instead of Scale.
Zoom is always long, but if you use Scale in the small window in Adjust you will find that render times are much shorter.
You place the cursor on the side of Scale on the left, cklick and drag to the right.
Do the opposite to make smaller.
Sorry if you knew this already. Many people don't.
